Individual Psychological Therapy
Compassionate, evidence-based psychological therapy for adults and young people aged 13 and over.
In person & Online
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming, and it isn't always easy to understand why. You may be experiencing anxiety, struggling with difficult emotions, navigating challenging relationships or finding that past experiences continue to affect your present.
Perhaps you know exactly what you would like support with, or maybe you simply feel stuck, disconnected or unsure where to begin.
I offer a confidential, compassionate and non-judgemental therapeutic space where we can explore your experiences together, develop a deeper understanding of your difficulties and work towards meaningful change.
You don't need a diagnosis or a clear understanding of what's wrong to begin therapy.

Young People (Aged 13+)
I provide developmentally appropriate psychological therapy for young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, emotional difficulties, academic pressures, bullying, family challenges, relationship difficulties and low confidence.
My approach considers each young person's developmental stage, individual circumstances and emotional needs, while maintaining appropriate safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries.
My Approach to Individual Therapy
My therapeutic approach is primarily grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), incorporating person-centred and formulation-driven principles.
CBT is an evidence-based psychological therapy that explores the connections between thoughts, emotions, physical responses and behaviours. It can help us understand how certain patterns develop, what may be maintaining psychological difficulties and how we can begin to approach them differently.
However, I recognise that effective therapy is not simply about applying techniques or managing symptoms. Each person's experiences are unique, and understanding the wider context of their difficulties is an important part of the therapeutic process.
I therefore take an individualised, collaborative approach, combining psychological understanding with practical therapeutic strategies. Together, we work towards developing insight, exploring underlying patterns and building the skills needed to navigate difficulties more effectively.
Therapy is not about changing who you are, but about understanding yourself and finding ways to move forward that feel meaningful to you.
What to Expect From Therapy
-
Our initial session provides an opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy, discuss your current difficulties and begin understanding your experiences and goals.
We will also consider your individual needs and whether the therapeutic approach I offer is appropriate for you.
-
Developing a trusting therapeutic relationship is an important part of effective therapy. I aim to provide a compassionate, non-judgemental environment where you feel heard, respected and actively involved in your care. We will discuss confidentiality, its professional and legal limits, therapeutic boundaries and your expectations, ensuring you understand how we will work together.
-
Using a collaborative psychological formulation, we will explore how your thoughts, emotions, behaviours and past experiences may be connected to your current difficulties. This process helps us identify patterns, understand what may be maintaining certain challenges and agree on meaningful therapeutic goals. Your perspective remains central throughout.
-
Drawing on evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and individually tailored therapeutic approaches, we will work towards your goals. Depending on your needs, this may involve exploring difficult experiences, developing emotional regulation skills, challenging unhelpful patterns or practising new coping strategies. Therapy combines psychological understanding with practical techniques to support changes that are meaningful to you.
-
Therapy is an ongoing collaborative process, and we will regularly reflect on your progress, revisit your goals and adapt our approach where needed. As our work progresses, we may focus on consolidating what you've learned, strengthening your confidence in managing future challenges and preparing for the end of therapy. The aim is to support you in carrying the understanding and skills developed in sessions into your everyday life.
Seeking therapy can feel like a big decision, particularly when you're unsure where to begin. Whether you're experiencing a specific difficulty or simply feel that something needs to change, you don't have to have everything figured out before reaching out.
I'm here to offer a compassionate, professional and supportive space where we can explore your experiences together.
When you're ready, I'd be glad to hear from you.
