Schools & Educational Settings

Individual psychological therapy, therapeutic groupwork and evidence-informed wellbeing workshops for schools and educational communities.

Emotional and psychological wellbeing plays an important role in young people's development, relationships, learning and overall experience of education.

I work collaboratively with schools and educational settings to provide professional, compassionate and individually tailored psychological support for young people experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties.

Drawing on my background in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), psychological assessment and therapeutic groupwork, I aim to help young people develop greater emotional understanding, strengthen coping skills and navigate challenges affecting their wellbeing. I recognise that every school community is different. My approach combines evidence-based psychological principles with an understanding of the developmental, social and educational factors that influence young people's experiences.

What Can I Help Schools and Educational Settings With?

  • A young boy with short light brown hair and blue eyes sitting at a table, smiling, holding a pen, with a large booklet or worksheet in front of him. He is wearing a striped gray and black sweater. Behind him is a red leather tufted booth and a textured gray wall.

    Individual School Counselling & Referrals

Supporting young people aged 13 and over experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation difficulties, low self-esteem, trauma, bullying, relationship challenges, academic pressures and difficulties associated with neurodivergence.

I welcome referrals from schools and educational professionals, offering individual psychological therapy informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and collaborative psychological formulation. Sessions are tailored to each young person's developmental needs and circumstances, with appropriate consideration of consent, confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities.

    Therapeutic Groupwork

Supporting young people through structured group interventions focusing on anxiety management, emotional regulation, self-esteem, social confidence, psychological resilience and coping with academic pressures.

My approach combines evidence-informed psychological principles with interactive activities, guided reflection and collaborative learning. Groupwork provides opportunities to develop emotional awareness, strengthen coping strategies and explore shared experiences within a supportive environment, with appropriate consideration of individual suitability, group dynamics and safeguarding.

    Pupil Wellbeing Workshops

Supporting pupils in developing greater psychological awareness, emotional understanding and practical coping skills through tailored psychoeducational workshops covering anxiety, stress management, emotional regulation, resilience, self-esteem, healthy relationships and neurodivergence.

Workshops combine accessible psychological information with evidence-informed strategies, interactive exercises and opportunities for discussion and reflection. Content is adapted to pupils' ages, developmental needs and educational settings, with the aim of promoting emotional wellbeing and equipping young people with practical skills they can apply in everyday life.

My Approach to Working with Schools

My approach to working within educational settings is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), incorporating person-centred, formulation-driven and developmentally appropriate principles.

CBT provides an evidence-based framework for understanding the connections between thoughts, emotions and behaviours. Through individual counselling, groupwork and workshops, I aim to help young people develop emotional awareness, understand their difficulties and build practical coping strategies. I recognise that young people's experiences are shaped by their relationships, family circumstances and educational environments. Understanding this wider context is essential to providing meaningful, individualised psychological support.

My experience includes 20 hours of supervised therapeutic groupwork, alongside additional workshops delivered in Leicestershire and within an NHS GP practice. These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt psychological interventions to different groups and create supportive, engaging learning environments.

I take a collaborative, psychologically informed approach that respects individual needs, confidentiality and safeguarding responsibilities.

Supporting young people's wellbeing is about helping them feel understood, recognise their strengths and develop the confidence and skills to navigate life's challenges.
